A Stroll (or Two) in Comares

This is one of my favourite places so far in Andalucia…

Located about 20 kilometres to the north of Malaga, this small town boasts some stunning views of its surrounding mountains. If you are interested in Moorish architecture, by the way, there is only one thing to do here: get lost in its narrow and steep streets!

A first panoramic view:

Lars and I became so enamoured with Comares after this first visit, that we came back almost a month later.

These pictures give a better view of the town itself.

Greeks and Phoenicians founded Comares in the 7th century and it became a Moorish fortress a century later.

And last but not least, another panoramic view of the surrounding mountains.
